Birch buds


Birch buds - a diuretic, cholagogue, diaphoretic, blood-purifying, analgesic, anti-infective, wound healing, anthelmintic, reduces inflammation, has a strong antibacterial effect, killing germs enteric typhoid series. It is used for treatment of wounds, stomatitis, gingivitis, periodontal disease, SARS, sore throat, and many other infectious diseases. One of the main sources for bees propolis.

Tincture of birch buds (1:5) exhibits antimicrobial activity against antibiotic-resistant forms of 144 strains of staphylococci isolated from patients with various forms of purulent infection (mastitis, furunculosis, cellulitis, abscesses, peritonitis).

Methods of application:
Decoction of birch buds (Decoctum Gemmarum Betulae). Prepared from 10 g per 200 ml of water, boil for 15 minutes, strain through cheesecloth, take 1 tablespoon 3-4 times a day.
Tincture of birch buds (Tinctura Gemmarum Betulae). Prepare a 90% alcohol in a ratio of 1:5 materials to the extractor. Alcohol tincture of birch buds 1:10 (infused for 2 months at 70% alcohol) is used for chronic mesotympanitis, acute otitis (ear infusion buried and washed with tincture of tympanic cavity within 10-15 days, daily). Tincture of birch buds is prescribed for anemia in the postpartum period.
Ointment of birch buds. It is considered one of the most powerful and effective means of treatment of rheumatism. This ointment is used for rubbing the sore points in rheumatics. The ointment is prepared as follows: 800 g of vegetable oil is placed in a clay pot, along with birch buds. Then, a pot lid, cover up and put it on the test day in the oven. After that, squeeze out the oil from the kidneys and add 8 g of camphor, pounded into powder. Keep this solution tightly closed in refrigerator. Rub the sore spots at least once daily, preferably in the evening, before bedtime.
